Showing how a man on a motorcycle approached her, tried to grab her bag, and caused her to fall hard, knocking her unconscious. The shocking twist came minutes later when the same suspect returned. The incident took place in broad daylight while the elderly woman was walking alone in Jelambar, in the Grogol Petamburan area of West Jakarta. Police believe he intended to snatch the bag again, but when he saw that many people had gathered around the scene, he quickly switched his approach and pretended to be a helpful bystander.
The suspect reportedly told police that he returned because he “felt sorry” for the victim. However, authorities did not accept this claim at face value, noting the signs of intentional criminal behavior including the initial forceful attack and the attempted theft.
