Disney and Qatar-based powerhouse beIN Media Group have expanded their content agreement in a new partnership, giving beIN rights to Disney Channel and Disney Junior across the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.
The new deal will bring Disney Channel and Disney Junior in English and Arabic on beIN’s outlets in Mena, where Disney+ has been operating as a standalone streaming platform since June 2022.
BeIN — which is a co-owner of U.S. indie studio Miramax — operates linear satellite channels in 24 territories across Mena. Historically, its business has been driven by sports, but its scripted content offer has been steadily increasing recently. In 2022, beIN launched its Tod streaming platform, which currently commands a 4% share of the Mena streaming market thanks to a mix of premium sports and scripted content.

Mitchel Musso was a prolific Disney Channel star who was on one of its biggest shows, "Hannah Montana." According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the highest-rated episodes drew in over 10 million viewers. The secret superstar sitcom was one of the few series to make it past Disney Channel's dreaded 65 episode rule because it was too popular to cancel. Musso, with his Justin Bieber-style hair swoop and earnest smile, played Oliver Oken — a sweet, outgoing kid known for his quirky catchphrase, "Fricky Fricky Fresh."
He also voiced Jeremy, the guitar-playing object of Candace's affection on the animated series "Phineas and Ferb." Musso eventually earned a starring role on the Disney Xd show "Pair of Kings," about fraternal twins who become the unexpected rulers of a tropical island kingdom. But it's been at least two years since we've heard anything about what Mitchel Musso is up to, since he...

Phineas and Ferb is easily one of the most recognizable and beloved IPs Disney made for the younger demographics. As a result, it isn’t a surprise that the series created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh is being revived for a bunch of new episodes that fans will finally get to watch this summer to relive the original’s magic.

However, things might have been almost entirely different had Nickelodeon not made the worst decision of turning down the series when it was in development. In an interview, Povenmire and Marsh confirmed they had pitched the series to Nickelodeon, who rejected it for an absurd reason before Disney picked it up. Here is what the creators had to say about Nickelodeon rejecting Phineas and Ferb.

Phineas and Ferb is arguably one of the most beloved children’s cartoons. The series was created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh and ran for four seasons before concluding in 2017. After a few years of absence, the dynamic behind-the-scenes duo is once again back together to bring the titular stepbrother duo back to our screens.

A fifth installment of the series is slated to premiere later this year, making it an opportune moment to go back in time and reflect on the classic cartoon’s creation. During an interview, Povenmire revealed that the series originated from a doodle he made during a visit to a restaurant. What followed is one of the strangest origin stories for an animated series and here is how it all went down.

Does the infamous line “Mom! Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence!” ring a bell? 30 Rock remains one of TV’s most beloved comedy series. It was awarded 16 Emmys in its 7-year stint at NBC. What really set the show apart was both the fast humor and the characters that fans still remember. Developed by Tina Fey and mostly inspired by her own work for Saturday Night Live as a head writer, the show depicted fictional sketches of the working environment of an NBC sketch comedy show.

The 1990s were a monumental decade for animation. Plenty of kids who came of age during this time fondly remember watching classics of the medium on their television sets while Disney was in the midst of another renaissance with the likes of "Beauty and the Beast" and "The Lion King" gracing the big screen. That quality carried over into the 2000s with plenty of series that still proved animation was something that could be enjoyed by people of all ages.
The best 2000s cartoons primarily consist of those marketed toward kids, but there are a few adult animated shows gracing this list that were for a more (im)mature mindset. The main criteria for this list is that a show needs to have had its best episodes during the years from 2000 to 2009. Phineas and Ferb's signature brand of comedy naturally lent itself to several clever episodes that serve as standalone spoofs or parodies during its beloved four-season run. Phineas and Ferb's constant meta-humor is a staple part of the series' narrative, almost a kid-friendly version of the referential comedy largely established by The Simpsons. The cartoon which is one of Disney Channel's best sitcoms is also highly formulaic, with the same basic plot of the boys building something impossible and their sister trying to show their mother playing out in almost every episode.
The structure is expected to continue into Phineas and Ferb season 5, which will revive the show after a decade. However, especially (but not entirely) in the later seasons, the showrunners veered away from regular days of summer for episodes typically set in a separate universe with parallel characters, with a storyline obviously replicating that of another property (one...

Phineas and Ferb is a beloved Disney Channel cartoon that, for many, is impossible to replace — yet the showrunners themselves attempted that with at least one of the fan-favorite characters. The adventures of the tech-savvy stepbrothers, creating one impossible invention after another while their teenage sister desperately tries to show their mother what they have done, are amazingly clever and engaging despite its straightforward premise and formulaic plot. Even more bizarre is the B plot of the series, which follows their pet platypus fighting an incompetent evil scientist.
Perry the Platypus (whose "platypus sounds" are provided by Dee Bradley Baker) is doubtlessly one of the most iconic cartoon characters of the 21st century, if not in all of TV history. Fans are eager to see him again in Phineas and Ferb season 5, which will revive the show. While they wait out the final stretch of a 10-year hiatus, fans might...

Disney's beloved cartoon Phineas and Ferb follows the titular brothers, voiced by Vincent Martella and Thomas Brodie Sangster, as they vow to spend each summer off from school inventing extravagant new things, breaking records, and going on wild adventures. All the while, Phineas and Ferb's pet platypus, Perry, is living a double life as a secret agent constantly battling the dimwitted wannabe villain Dr. Doofenshmirtz (Dan Povenmire). The gag is, the boys' mother is constantly aloof to her sons' adventures.
Even after a number of the show's other characters learn of the brothers' fantastical adventures, the boys' mother, Linda Flynn-Fletcher (Caroline Rhea) continues to live in her own world. The Phineas and Ferb matriarch is often spotted spending time with their dad and on the phone with her friends. When the boys cover up some of their rule-breaking ways, she typically buys into their excuses but come on, she should have known better.

Recently, there has been an explosion in the number of old childrens shows being revived for a newer audience, the latest one being Phineas and Ferb. The new season of Phineas and Ferb is set to premiere in 2025, with most of the original voice cast set to reprise their roles from the shows first run. Although Phineas and Ferb worked well because of the strict episode structure of the show, there is something that needs to change in the upcoming reboot. This change needs to be the role Candace plays in the series.
Candace was a popular Phineas and Ferb character when the show began in 2007. However, her role always revolved around the male characters in her life. Her main aim was always to bust her brothers for their antics of making dangerous inventions. When she wasnt obsessing over her brothers, she was obsessing over her Jeremy, swooning over him...

The Phineas and Ferb revival must address one strange, loose plot thread from the series' original run, regarding Candace's (Ashley Tisdale) best friend Stacy (Kelly Hu), who stumbles upon the series-long Perry the Platypus bombshell with no one else knowing. Phineas and Ferb follows two main plotlines: Phineas (Vincent Martella) and Ferb (Thomas Bordie-Sangster/David Errigo Jr.) building wild contraptions with Candace vehemently trying to show them to their mother, while their pet does battle with evil scientist Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz (Dan Povenmire). A regular set of characters always participate in these adventures, including the ever-sarcastic and occasionally clueless Stacy.
Stacy's storyline is most often tied up with Candace; as the long-suffering best friend, Stacy either begrudgingly helps or quietly excuses herself once Candace is caught up with the day's attempt to show Linda (Caroline Rhea) the truth. The revival of Phineas and Ferb was recently teased at New York Comic Con with the reveal of a surprisingly detailed poster that calls back to one of the show's classic episodes. Phineas and Ferb ran for four seasons over eight years on Disney Channel, becoming a popular series with immensely clever metatextual humor. The show has been on hiatus for nearly a decade, broken up by the release of a spinoff movie in 2020. Phineas and Ferb season 5 is expected in 2025, with the broad Phineas and Ferb timeline continuing as it did before.

Disney's popular animated series Phineas and Ferb is returning for a brand-new fifth season soon, and there's already a lot to know about the cartoon's revival. Airing for four seasons between 2007 and 2015, the series concerns step-brothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher, who spend their summer vacation concocting elaborate and sometimes dangerous schemes. While dodging their controlling older sister Candace, the two are unaware that their pet platypus, Perry, is actually a secret agent tasked with foiling the plans of the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz. With its strange and playful concept, Phineas and Ferb stood apart from Disney's other fare.
Despite being somewhat short-lived (considering its huge cultural appeal), Phineas and Ferb lived on through feature films, video games, and even a small presence in Disney theme parks as well. Hope for a revival has been high since the show's conclusion in 2015, and though it took a while to get going, season 5 is finally in the offing.

Disney Channel once had a 65-episode rule, but now allows for longer-running shows, launching careers of stars like Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus. Shows like Liv and Maddie, Austin & Ally, and Kim Possible defied the 65-episode rule, earning high episode counts and fan followings. Memorable shows like That's So Raven and Wizards of Waverly Place paved the way for longer-running series on Disney Channel, with over 100 episodes each.
The longest-running Disney shows not only proved huge successes for the Disney Channel but also helped to define a generation of children's television. Well-done animated shows have some great recall value for those who had the privilege of viewing them as children. Be it the Saturday morning action cartoons of old, or newer, more child-friendly shows like Kid vs. Kat, Kick Buttowiski, or The Amazing Spies, what is often remembered of these shows are the banger opening sequences that came with them.

I have good news for fellow “Phineas and Ferb” fans! More episodes of the show are coming, and those episodes will be like a Season 5, taking place the summer after the original series.
During a Disney Television Animation presentation at the Annecy International Film Festival, called “40 Years of Disney Television Animation: Past, Present and Future,” the original show creators of “Phineas and Ferb,” Dan Povenmire and Jeff Marsh, discussed the plans for the new 40-episode series.
In the discussion, we learned that the new episodes will take place one year after the first four seasons, and they are trying to make the new episodes feel as close to the original episodes as possible, which is smart.
Originally “Phineas and Ferb” ran on the Disney Channel from 2007 – 2015.
The new series will feature returning and new writers for the show. Bringing in a fresh batch of ideas!

The creator of Phineas and Ferb confirms Lawrence Fletcher as Phineas' real dad, emphasizing the importance of family beyond biology. Despite fan theories, Dr. Doofenshmirtz as Phineas' biological dad is debunked due to timeline inconsistencies. On Saturday, Mitchel Musso, who played Oliver Oken on the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana, was arrested in Rockwall, Texas, on charges of public intoxication and theft.
Police responded to a 7:15 p.m. call over a “disturbance at a hotel.” Earlier, Musso entered the hotel while intoxicated, took a bag of chips and began eating them. When he was asked to pay for the chips, “he became verbally abusive and left without rendering payment.”
Officers spoke with Musso outside the hotel and took him into custody. A statement from police explained that Musso had “several outstanding traffic warrants” for failing to show a driver’s license and having an expired registration. He was arrested for public intoxication and theft (under $100), which are both considered Class C misdemeanors, and was taken to Rockwall County Detention Center to be booked.
After spending one night in jail, he was released on a $1,000 bond on Sunday.

The world recently lost a titan of comedy when Paul Reubens sadly passed away at the age of 70, and it's worth revisiting his funniest comedic cameos. Best known for his character of Pee-Wee Herman, Reubens was a hilarious writer and performer who brought his unique sensibility to any project that was lucky enough to include him. While he will always be remembered for his own projects like Pee-Wee's Big Adventure and Pee-Wee's Playhouse, Reubens also lent his talents to other projects through cameos.
Reubens would often appear in one-scene roles in feature films, or as a guest actor on one episode of a sitcom and completely steal the scene, if not the entire episode or movie. He was an extremely talented person who left his mark wherever he went. Here are Paul Reubens' 10 funniest cameos.

The late, great Paul Reubens completely changed the landscape of comedy with his character of Pee-wee Herman, becoming one of the handful of celebrities like Jim "Ernest P. Worrell" Varney, Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson, and Glenn "Divine" Milstead who become synonymous with their most famous roles. Honestly, there were probably a lot of people who learned of his passing at the same time they learned his actual name. Don't get me wrong, Pee-wee Herman is one of the greatest and most influential characters ever shown on screen and his hopeful embrace of the weird and creative has certainly made the world a better place. But Reubens was so much more than Pee-wee Herman and brought a number of other hilarious roles to life.

Stoner was a prominent figure for Disney and has been starring in Disney productions since joining Mike's Super Short Show in 2001. In a recent interview with the I'm Literally Screaming with Specewuah podcast (via Huffpost), Stoner explained that coming out as queer is the reason that Disney eventually cut ties with them. The 29-year-old actor was a prominent Disney star, playing Lydia in the animated Disney production Milo Murphy's Law at the time of their firing and recalling how they turned to the father of another iconic Disney figure for guidance. Gen Z and elder Millennials grew up watching the best cartoons of the 2000s on TV. At the turn of the century, cartoons got more experimental and bizarre, and evolved greatly both in terms of long-form dramatic storytelling and humor. These well-loved shows are perfect for those looking to show their own kids the best of the golden era of animated TV shows, or even just viewers who want to relive their childhoods with friends and family. Many of these shows are still getting new episodes or reboots in the 2020s, highlighting how the 2000s were arguably a golden era for animated kid's TV.
Indeed, early 2000s cartoons — even those rated TV-Y7 and TV-pg — remain entertaining to both kids and adults today. The latter half of the decade saw some incredibly high-quality cartoons hit the airwaves too, with some now considered among the best animated TV shows ever. Despite their sometimes dated visuals,...

This post contains spoilers for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."
Being a superhero movie fan requires a constant suspension of disbelief. Whether we're accepting the narrative coexistence of what Sam Wilson calls "the big three", looking past the fact that no one in the world ever really responded to the appearance of Tiamut in "Eternals," or glossing over some high-profile recasts, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are pretty consistently asked to just kind of roll with things.
Now fifteen years into its run, the franchise has also gotten into the habit of reusing some actors in more than one role, a method that can be either distracting or delightful depending on the context. The list of actors who have appeared in more than one MCU role is already massive, but it grew even more this week as "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" repurposed familiar voices and faces in surprising new roles.
